Documenting the journey from parts to plane.
I want to prime the interior parts of my plane. What primer to use, and how to prep for it - that's where all the questions come in.
Due to the laser cut hole issues I'm not able to build my tail kit at Synergy in Oregon. I've contracted with a trucking company to pick up the kit and bring it down - ETA is about two weeks.
Vans is using laser cutting to meet the demand for kits - but some builders have been reporting issues with their laser cut holes. When dimpled and/or riveted, they tend to crack. How bad this is could be anyone's guess, but Vans has stopped laser cutting parts and is replacing affected parts for builders.
Building a Vans RV-10 takes a few years - up to a decade or more for some people. Starting in earnest this August, I hope to finish in two or three years. This site will document that journey and link to resources and companies that have helped me along the way. Hopefully, it'll be useful for others, but remember you need to make your own decisions about your plane.
